Vivo has shared more details about X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max camera systems as new reports reveal global launch plans for Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi flagship phones.
Vivo has confirmed that X500 series will launch next month. Company Product Manager Han Boxiao shared camera details through separate Weibo posts, giving users a closer look at telephoto hardware planned for X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.
Vivo X500 Pro Gets 64MP APO Telephoto Camera
Vivo X500 Pro will feature a 64MP APO telephoto camera with a custom Sony LYT-610 sensor. Camera will use a GG 1×1 and RB 2×2 pixel structure, which can help improve focus performance.
Vivo says telephoto camera builds on APO technology used in Vivo X100 Pro. Camera will offer an 85mm focal length and support full-resolution 64MP photo capture.
Camera system will also support CIPA 7.0 stabilization. For video, X500 Pro can record 4K video at 120fps for slow-motion capture and support 4K 60fps HDR video.
Vivo X500 Pro Max Uses 200MP Samsung Sensor
Vivo X500 Pro Max will use a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size. Same sensor also appears in Vivo X300 Ultra.
X500 Pro Max will support CIPA 7.0 stabilization and use an updated capture pipeline for up to 30x zoom. Phone will also support a 400mm teleconverter introduced with X300 Ultra.
Vivo has also confirmed a new custom Phantom 900 sensor for X500 Pro Max. Sony and Vivo Blueprint imaging team develop sensor, with Vivo claiming up to 17EV dynamic range.
Camera setup shows that Vivo plans to focus heavily on zoom and image capture with X500 Pro Max. Support for a 200MP sensor, 30x zoom, 400mm teleconverter, and 17EV dynamic range could make camera system a major part of phone launch.
Vivo X500 Ultra May Skip Global Market
Along with camera details, a new leak has shared information about global launch plans for upcoming flagship phones from Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi.
According to Yogesh Brar, Vivo X500 Ultra and Oppo Find X10 Ultra will not launch globally. A previous report also made a similar claim.
This means buyers outside China may not get access to some top camera-focused phones from Vivo and Oppo. Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could face less direct competition in global markets if rival Ultra models remain limited to China.
Vivo appears ready to take a different approach with X500 Pro Max. Reports claim Vivo will bring vanilla and Pro Max models to global markets. Vivo has already started teasing X500 Pro models in China, but global plans for X500 Pro remain unclear.
X500 Pro Max may serve as a replacement for an Ultra model in global markets. Camera hardware could support this position, especially with a 200MP sensor, 30x zoom, 400mm teleconverter, and new Phantom 900 sensor.
Oppo Find X10 Series Global Plans
Oppo also appears set to bring non-Ultra flagship models to global markets. According to leak, Find X10 Ultra will remain outside global markets, while standard and Pro Max models could receive wider availability.
This approach could give Oppo a way to offer flagship hardware globally without releasing its top Ultra model.
More details about Find X10 global launch timing and model names are still unknown.
Xiaomi 18 Series Could Get Wider Global Release
Xiaomi may take a different path from Vivo and Oppo. Reports claim Xiaomi plans to launch Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max globally.
If confirmed, Xiaomi 18 series could mark a change for Xiaomi, as all next-generation flagship models may reach markets outside China.
Standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to arrive globally early next year. Global release timing for Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max remains unclear.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could also carry a price close to previous Ultra models when Xiaomi brings phone to global markets.
What to Expect From Vivo X500 Series
Vivo X500 series now has two major stories around its launch: camera hardware and global availability.
X500 Pro will bring a 64MP APO telephoto camera with Sony LYT-610 sensor, 85mm focal length, CIPA 7.0 stabilization, 4K 120fps video, and 4K 60fps HDR video.
X500 Pro Max will move further with a 200MP Samsung HP0 telephoto sensor, up to 30x zoom, 400mm teleconverter support, CIPA 7.0 stabilization, and a custom Phantom 900 sensor with claimed 17EV dynamic range.
Global buyers may also have access to X500 Pro Max even if Vivo keeps X500 Ultra limited to China. With Xiaomi reportedly planning global availability for its Xiaomi 18 series and Oppo preparing global non-Ultra models, next-generation flagship competition could become more focused on Pro and Pro Max phones.
Vivo has yet to confirm complete global launch details for X500 series. More information should appear as company moves closer to its China launch next month.
