Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is becoming a major topic among smartphone leaks, with new CAD renders, camera details, battery reports and price rumors pointing to changes across Samsung’s next Ultra phone. Leaks suggest Samsung may keep much of Galaxy S26 Ultra’s body while making a major change to rear camera design.
New renders show a large horizontal camera section near top of rear panel. Camera sensors sit inside left side of module, while flash and other camera parts use remaining space. This design may look close to phones from Apple and Google, but reports suggest Samsung could have a practical reason for making this change.
Galaxy S27 Ultra CAD Renders Show New Camera Design
New CAD renders from OnLeaks provide a view of Galaxy S27 Ultra from front, rear and side. Samsung appears to keep much of current Ultra design, including large display, flat body and built-in S Pen.
Main change comes from rear camera area. Galaxy S27 Ultra may move away from separate vertical camera lenses along upper-left corner and use a horizontal camera bar near top.
Another set of renders also shows three rear cameras instead of four. This points to a possible change in Samsung’s zoom camera setup.
Galaxy S27 Ultra Dimensions
According to current leak, Galaxy S27 Ultra may measure:

- Width: 78.25 mm
- Thickness: 7.97 mm
- Camera bump thickness: 12.53 mm
For comparison, Galaxy S26 Ultra measures around 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm. This means S27 Ultra may be slightly larger, but difference remains small.
Camera section could reach 12.53 mm, making rear module much thicker than phone body. Larger camera hardware could explain part of this change.
Galaxy S27 Ultra is also expected to use a 6.9-inch display with a hole-punch selfie camera.
Camera Bar May Support Qi2 Magnets
Camera bar design may not simply copy another phone. One major reason behind Samsung’s change could be Qi2 magnetic support.
Current camera placement leaves limited flat space on rear panel for magnetic accessories. A horizontal camera section near top could help Samsung place a magnetic ring below camera area.
Qi2 magnets could support accessories such as:
- Wallet
- Power bank
- Car mount
- Grip
- Kickstand
- Wireless charger
Google already uses a horizontal camera bar with built-in magnetic support on Pixel phones, while Apple uses MagSafe on iPhone.
Samsung has also used a horizontal camera design before with Galaxy S10. Because of that history, calling Galaxy S27 Ultra a direct iPhone copy does not tell full story.
Samsung May Finally Add Native Magnetic Charging
Galaxy S26 Ultra has faced criticism around magnetic accessory support. Samsung offers Qi2 Ready support through compatible cases, but built-in magnets would provide a more direct experience.
Galaxy S27 Ultra could finally bring native magnetic support to Samsung flagship hardware.
A horizontal camera bar may also free some internal space for cooling and battery components. Samsung could use this space for hardware changes without making body much thicker.

Reports suggest Samsung may remove 10MP 3x telephoto camera and use 5x telephoto as main zoom option.

Samsung may use an ISOCELL HIP6 sensor for 200MP main camera. Reports also point to a Sony IMX855 50MP sensor for ultrawide camera.

Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to use Qualcomm’s next flagship processor.
Current leaks call chip Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme. Samsung may also use Exynos 2700 in some markets.
Final processor name and market availability remain unknown.

Another report suggested a $1,399 price, meaning a $100 increase. Because two leaks point to different prices, buyers should treat current pricing information as unconfirmed.
Rising component costs and memory prices may push Samsung toward a higher Ultra price.
Galaxy S27 Pro Could Take $1,299 Position
Galaxy S27 Pro may become a new model in Samsung’s lineup.
Reports suggest S27 Pro could share some hardware with Ultra, including main and ultrawide cameras. However, Pro may use a 3x 12MP telephoto camera instead of Ultra’s 50MP 5x camera.
S27 Pro may also use a standard M16 OLED panel, while Ultra could receive an M16 E7 panel.
M16 E7 panel is rumored to offer around 20% better power efficiency than standard M16 panel.
S27 Pro may also have a smaller body, smaller battery and 45W charging. S Pen support may be missing from Pro model.
Galaxy S27 and S27+ May Keep Current Strategy
Galaxy S27 and S27+ are expected to remain close in hardware.
Both phones may use M14 OLED panels and similar camera hardware, including:

Samsung has not confirmed Galaxy S27 launch date.
