Lenovo Legion Y700 Infinite Launches With 165Hz OLED, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 24GB RAM

Lenovo has launched its new compact gaming tablet, Legion Y700 Infinite, in China. New model brings an 8.4-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, up to 24GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, 5G support and two USB-C port.

Legion Y700 Infinite also focus on gaming with a 165Hz refresh rate, 4,000-nit peak brightness, 68W charging and a 15,000mm² cooling system. Lenovo has also place RGB lighting around rear camera, along with speaker and vibration features for gaming.

Lenovo Legion Y700 Infinite Display

Legion Y700 Infinite use an 8.4-inch OLED panel with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution. Display support a 165Hz refresh rate, which can help provide smooth motion during game play and normal use.

Lenovo claim peak brightness can reach 4,000 nits. Panel also support Dolby Vision and 12-bit color. Display cover 100% DCI-P3 color space and offer Delta E below 1. Lenovo also add 3,840Hz PWM dimming at low brightness.

Touch response also receive focus. Lenovo claim touch sampling can reach 3,400Hz. This can help during game play where quick touch input matter.

OLED display also give Legion Y700 Infinite a position against other compact gaming tablet. RedMagic Astra already use a 165Hz OLED display, while Apple iPad mini still use an LCD panel.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Power

Lenovo use an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in Legion Y700 Infinite. Chip can reach clock speed of up to 4.74GHz.

Lenovo also claim a score of 4,585,844 on AnTuTu. This result place Legion Y700 Infinite among high-performance Android tablet.

Memory option start at 12GB and go up to 24GB. Storage option include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Lenovo use LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 Pro storage.

Standard MSRP start at CNY 5,499 for 12GB/256GB version. Higher configuration carry CNY 6,499 and CNY 8,499 price tags. Lenovo offer launch pricing for each configuration in China.

Gaming Cooling System

Gaming tablet need a cooling system that can handle long game sessions. Lenovo place a 15,000mm² vapor chamber inside Legion Y700 Infinite.

Cooling system sit near center of tablet. This design can help move heat away from hand area during game play. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 can produce heat during heavy load, so cooling remain an important part of design.

Lenovo also position processor in center of tablet instead of near edge. This can help manage heat while users hold tablet during game play.

Tablet also support bypass charging. With this feature, users can continue game play while tablet connect to charger without relying fully on battery.

7,470mAh Battery With 68W Charging

Legion Y700 Infinite pack a 7,470mAh battery. Battery support 68W fast charging.

Battery capacity is lower than 9,000mAh battery found in Legion Tab Gen 5. However, new tablet also weigh less and measure only 6.5mm thick.

Lenovo list weight at around 298 grams. Small size and low weight can make tablet easier to hold during game play.

Two USB-C Port

Lenovo continue a feature found on Legion gaming tablet: two USB-C port.

One USB-C port support USB 3.2 Gen 2 and DisplayPort output. Users can connect tablet to a large screen through this port.

Second USB-C port use USB 2.0. Having two port can help users charge tablet while using a wired headset or another USB device.

Legion Y700 Infinite does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Dual USB-C port can help reduce this limitation during game play.

5G and Wireless Connection

Legion Y700 Infinite support 5G and dual-SIM connectivity. This gives users a mobile connection without relying on Wi-Fi.

For wireless connection, tablet support dual-band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Lenovo also add stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos support. Dual X-axis linear motor can provide vibration feedback during game play.

Camera and Design

Legion Y700 Infinite feature an 8MP front camera and a 50MP rear camera.

Front camera sit inside a punch-hole cutout. This differs from Legion Tab Gen 5, which place its front camera under display.

Tablet come in Ice White, Cloud Purple and Cloud Tide Purple options. Lenovo also add RGB light around rear camera. Company call this system Legion Halo.

RGB light can change based on tablet activity and add a gaming look to device.

Gaming Accessories

Lenovo has also show Legion Y700 Infinite with gaming accessories. These include G9 controller, arcade dock and CR7 Supreme Cooler Kit.

Controller can provide physical input for game play, while arcade dock can support a different gaming setup. CR7 cooler can help with heat control during long gaming sessions.

These accessories make Legion Y700 Infinite more than a standard Android tablet and show Lenovo focus on gaming use.

Legion Y700 Infinite vs Legion Tab Gen 5

Legion Y700 Infinite share several features with Legion Tab Gen 5, but display is one of main changes.

Gen 5 use an LCD display, while Y700 Infinite move to OLED with 165Hz refresh rate. New model also use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and offer up to 24GB RAM.

Y700 Infinite also weigh around 298 grams and measure 6.5mm thick. Battery capacity drop to 7,470mAh compared with 9,000mAh in Legion Tab Gen 5.

Gen 5 has already reach markets outside China, including U.S. market. Y700 Infinite currently remain limited to China.

Lenovo Legion Y700 Infinite Price and Availability

Lenovo Legion Y700 Infinite is now available in China. Company has not confirm a global launch or U.S. release.

Price start at CNY 5,499 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Launch price for this version is CNY 4,999, which equal about $744.

16GB RAM and 512GB storage version carry CNY 6,499 MSRP, with launch price at CNY 5,999, or about $893.

Top model with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage carry CNY 8,499 MSRP. Launch price is CNY 7,999, which equal about $1,190.

Will Legion Y700 Infinite Come to U.S.?

Lenovo has not confirm a global launch for Legion Y700 Infinite. Previous Y700 model later reach U.S. market under Legion Tab Gen 5 branding, so a global version remains possible.

For Android gaming tablet buyer, Y700 Infinite could become an option if Lenovo bring model outside China. OLED panel, 165Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 24GB RAM, two USB-C port, 5G and 68W charging give tablet a hardware setup for gaming.

For now, Lenovo Legion Y700 Infinite remain a China-only product. A global release date, U.S. price and Pakistan availability are not confirm.
