Huawei Pura X View enters smartphone market with a new wide-screen design. Huawei first showed phone on August 20, 2026, during HarmonyOS Smart Mobility Enjoy G9 event in China. Huawei plans to start pre-orders on August 28, while first sale is set for September 7.
Pura X View uses a 6.39-inch OLED display with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio. Huawei says screen offers more content area than many regular 6.9-inch phones. Display has 2,232 x 1,320 pixel resolution, 6,500 nits peak brightness, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
Huawei also gives phone a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio. Display area reaches 114.27 cm², while bezels measure 1.05mm on all sides. This design makes Pura X View different from most bar phones, which use a tall 19.5:9 or 20:9 display.
Slim Design With 7,000mAh Battery
Pura X View has a 6.68mm body and weighs 201 grams. Despite its slim body, Huawei fits a 7,000mAh battery inside phone. Huawei says battery can support video playback, reading, gaming, and office work.
Some reports mention a 7,200mAh battery for a similar upcoming model, but Huawei has listed 7,000mAh for Pura X View.
Pura X View will run stable HarmonyOS 7.0. Huawei has not yet shared chipset or camera details.
Wide Screen Without a Foldable Design
Pura X View brings wide-screen design to a regular flat smartphone. Foldable phones have allowed phone makers to test wider displays, but Huawei now brings similar screen idea to a glass-slab phone.
Huawei already launched Pura X and Pura X Max with wide-screen designs. Pura X Max uses a foldable format, while Pura X View uses a flat phone body.
Pura X View gives users a wide display without requiring a foldable hinge. Huawei says screen area can offer more room for content than a regular tall phone.
Storage and Color Options
Pura X View is available for pre-order in three storage variants. Storage goes up to 1TB. Huawei also offers four color options: Shadow Red, Linen Grey, Zero White, and Phantom Black.
Huawei has not shared full camera and chipset details yet, so more hardware information may appear before sale.

September 7 is also when Huawei plans to introduce Mate XT 2. Pura X View may become available for purchase alongside new foldable phone.
