Google has launched Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. New Pixel phone bring camera change, new chip power, better battery support, stronger body, AI feature, and a new Camera Looks tool.
Pixel 11 focus on giving user more control over photo style. Google also use Tensor G6 to improve camera work, AI task, speed, and power use. Along with hardware change, Google also add new display, storage, security, charging, and long-term software support.
Camera Looks Brings More Photo Control
Pixel phone has long been known for easy photo capture. A user can open camera, point at a subject, and take a photo with little effort. Google image processing has helped Pixel phone produce a balanced image in many light condition.
However, Google camera processing has also faced one common complaint. Strong HDR processing can lift shadow, add sharp detail, and make an image look flat or too digital.
Camera Looks aims to solve this issue.
New feature gives user different photo style inside camera app. User can select Original, Natural, Shadows, Vanilla, and other style option. Each style can also receive more change for contrast, tone, and color.
Original keep normal Pixel photo processing. Natural reduce strong detail sharpening and give a softer photo look. Shadows add more contrast and make dark area deeper. Vanilla use a warm tone with a softer color style.
Google also add style such as Digi, Black Tie, Minimal, Editorial, Classic, and Velvet. These option give Pixel user more ways to create a photo look without using a separate editing app.
Camera Looks does more than place a filter over a photo. Google changes camera capture and image processing based on selected style. A camera can use fewer HDR frame during capture. This can help keep natural shadow and reduce a flat image look.
Google also use color data from sensor to change how color appear in a photo. User can select a style and save a preferred setting as a camera default.
This can help user get a personal photo look from first shot without opening an editing app after capture.
Real Tone Still Focuses on Skin Color
Strong photo style can sometimes change skin color. Google aims to reduce this problem by using Real Tone with Camera Looks.
Real Tone works to keep skin color close to real life even when user select a strong photo style.
This approach can give Pixel user more creative control while keeping people photo natural.
Tensor G6 Powers Pixel 11
Google Tensor G6 is another major part of Pixel 11. Some early reports suggested that Tensor G6 could use a 2nm process. Google hardware executive Peng Yu-Chun confirmed that Tensor G6 use TSMC 3nm process.
Tensor G5 also use a 3nm process, but Tensor G6 brings changes in performance and power use.
Google says Tensor G6 gives 50% more TPU compute than Tensor G5. CPU power also gets an upgrade, with up to 30% better power efficiency.
Google also says CPU work can make web browsing 25% faster and app launch 15% faster.
For AI work, Tensor G6 works with latest Gemini Nano model. Google says on-device AI task can run up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy.
This chip also helps camera work. Google uses Tensor G6 for image processing, zoom, Night Sight, and other camera feature.
Camera Upgrade on Pixel 11
Pixel 11 gets a new 48MP main sensor. Sensor can capture 56% more light than before. More light can help photo and video work in low-light condition.
Pixel 11 also gets a 5x telephoto camera with support for 30x Super Zoom. Tensor G6 helps process zoom image and improve result at long range.
Night Sight also gets a major speed change. Google says new image signal processor, new sensor, and new software allow Night Sight to capture photo up to 4.5 times faster while keeping similar image quality.
Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL get more camera change.
Both Pro phone use a new main sensor. Telephoto camera also gets a 48MP sensor with a larger image sensor and 30% more light sensitivity.
Portrait Mode can now work at 5x zoom. Pro Zoom can also reach 120x with help from Tensor G6 and new imaging model.
These changes give Pro user more choice when taking photo from far away or in low light.
New Pixel 11 Design
Pixel 11 also gets a change in body design. Google reduce camera bar thickness by 40% on Pixel 11.
With a Made by Google case, phone can sit more flat and have less camera bump. A smaller bump can also make phone easier to carry in a pocket.
Pixel 11 use edge-to-edge glass around camera bar, a metal frame, and glass back. Phone also gets protection against daily splash, scratch, and drop.
Pixel 11 comes in Pistachio, Hibiscus, Frost, and Obsidian.
Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL come in Canyon, Fog, Olive, and matte Obsidian.
Brighter Display on Pro Models
Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL get Google’s brightest Super Actua display.
Display can reach up to 3,600 nits. Google also add a new anti-scratch coating that gives more than double scratch resistance compared with previous generation.
Pro phone continue to use a design made for better drop protection.
More Storage and Faster Charging
All Pixel 11 phone start with 256GB storage.
Google also add faster charging support. Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro support Qi 2.2 wireless charging at 25W.
Pixel 11 Pro XL can add up to 15 hours of battery life after only 15 minute of wired charging, according to Google.
Pixelsnap also comes built into new phone, giving user more support for compatible magnetic accessory.
HiLight Adds a New Way to Get Alerts
Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL also get HiLight.
HiLight use LED light around camera flash to show notification without forcing user to check screen.
When user ask Gemini for help, light can show a different pattern while Gemini listen, think, or respond.
User can also set custom color for incoming call from important contact.
Google plans to add more HiLight function over time, including message alert from selected contact.
Security Gets a Major Upgrade
Google also focus on phone security with Tensor G6 and new Titan M3 security chip.
Both chip work together to protect user data and device system. Google also add post-quantum cryptography to secure boot.
This approach aims to protect Pixel phone from current attack and future threat linked with quantum computer.
Pixel 11 also gets seven year of OS update, security update, and Pixel Drop update.
Pro phone also include six month of Google AI Pro. Package includes higher Gemini use, 5TB cloud storage, and Google Health Premium.
Pixel 11 Price and Release
Google Pixel 11 start at $899. Pixel 11 Pro start at $1,099, while Pixel 11 Pro XL start at $1,299.
Google says Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL are available for pre-order from launch. Phone will reach Google Store and retail partner on August 20.
